Karrar Husain, MD

Hi everyone, my name is Karrar Husain, M.D., and I am an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. I am dual-trained in Child & Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry, completing my psychiatry residency at Texas Tech and a fellowship in Child Psychiatry at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. I bring over 12 years of diverse clinical experience practicing psychiatry both in India and the United States. My clinical interests include working with children, adolescents, and adults, as well as providing specialized care for athletes, where I focus on active listening and understanding their goals to help them thrive both mentally and physically. As a physician, I believe that empathy, rapport-building, and personalized care are the cornerstones of effective treatment. Outside of work, my greatest joy is spending time with my children; playing, learning, and cherishing each moment as they grow.
